Heart of the Redwoods Horse Rescue lost a cherished friend, a young Welsh Pony Colt.

Little Comet was born August 1st, 2006, a feisty, exuberant Welsh Pony Colt.

On August 31st, 2006 he was accidently killed in the pasture.

It appeared that during the night one or more dogs began harrassing the mares and the colt. The mares fought valiantly as evidenced by their scars, but in the melee the young colt was accidently kicked and killed instantly. We buried him that evening amidst a flood of tears.

He was a Shooting Star that brightened our lives but for a moment.

There will be a memorial for him posted on the Heart of the Redwoods Horse Rescue Website at www.redwoodrescue.org
